ABOUT ME

MY STORY

Since 2019, Jennie has viewed life through a camera lens, and she has not looked back since. High school fostered her love of photography and journalism. By the end, she was editor and lead photographer. In college she almost pursued a degree in zoology but her love of photography and writing caused her to redirect and pursue a degree in photojournalism instead. Since then she has honed and developed her skills. She plans on continuing her photography journey into fields such as landscape, portrait, and wildlife photography.

MY PHILOSOPHY

  • I promise to not let my personal biases obstruct or cloud me from capturing the truth. I strive to not alter or change how the subject is seen in any way, for as a human that power is not mine to wield I vow to capture my subject as God intended them to be viewed. I promise to uphold the natural beauty of everyone and everything in this world and to not let them be perceived visually as anything different.

  • I promise to never lie or deceive my subject in any way by having them believe my intentions are anything besides what they truly are. I vow to be honest and completely transparent about what my work will be used for and who all will have access to view them. I vow to be honest with myself and to never take on something that I know that I cannot handle or do my best work with.

  • I vow to truly learn about my subjects and understand their stories, emotions, and thoughts before conducting any type of photography. If given the chance, I wish to know someone personally before I subject them to a photo, for this makes my work more honest and meaningful.

  • I vow to listen to any doubts or issues that my subjects have when conducting any work. I will never, under any circumstances, purposefully share anything in which my subjects do not want me to, whether it be about their story or a photo. I always attempt to keep my subject’s emotions and opinions in mind so that they will always feel more comfortable when working with me. I vow to keep my subject’s discomforts and objections in mind, for I never want to force them to do or share something that they do not want to.
